Virtual Series | Fascinating Finds Tuesday, August 27, 2024 7 p.m.-8 p.m.

August 13, 20 & 27, 2024

Held virtually, over the course of three evenings, hear expert speakers, including Bayou Bend’s curators, give each work its time in the spotlight and discover what makes them Fascinating Finds.

A new, compact clock with a patented alarm mechanism heralds the signs of a changing world order; a pair of silver candlesticks illuminate the story of a historic trade route; and a brilliant blue-glass kerosene lamp lights the way towards America’s future. What do these three objects have in common? In addition to being recent works of art to enter the Bayou Bend collection, they each have something interesting to say about the world in which they came to be.
