Experience Thomas Demand: The Stutter of History through the written word. This event features a performance from local writers, Ayokunle Falomo and Natasha Carrizosa, inspired by the exhibition. Performances will take place inside the exhibition gallery.

About the Speaker
Ayokunle Falomo is a Nigerian-American storyteller whose mission is to use his pen as a shovel to unearth what makes us human. He is the author of kin.DREAD and thread, this wordweaver must!. Falomo's work has been featured in publications such as Local Houston Magazine, Glass Mountain, The New York Times, and the Houston Chronicle. His performances have graced stages including TEDxHouston and various venues across and beyond Texas.

Natasha Carrizosa is a teacher, poet, writer, author, MC, keynote speaker, facilitator, and spoken word artist. Born to an African-American mother and a Mexican immigrant father, Carrizosa explores themes of authenticity, overcoming adversity, mindfulness, and self-care in her book Crown. Her work also delves into spirituality, motherhood, teenage life, gratitude, hopes, and the journey from bullying to self-actualization. Inspired by her love for the arts, she founded “Natty Roots & Rhyme,” one of the most dynamic poetry open mics in the country.
