Experience Raqib Shaw: Ballads of East and West through the written word. This event features a performance by local writers Farrah Fang and Reyes Ramirez, inspired by the exhibition.

About the Speakers
Farrah Fang is a Latina trans woman, artist, and writer from Houston. She is the author of the poetry chapbook Quererme en la Luz. Her poems have appeared in Raspa Magazine and Odessa Collective. Upcoming work includes The Texas Review and Defunkt Magazine.

Reyes Ramirez is a Houston writer, educator, curator, and organizer of Mexican and Salvadoran descent. He is the author of the short story collection The Book of Wanderers and the poetry collection El Rey of Gold Teeth. His latest project, The Houston Artist Speaks Through Grids, explores the use of grids in contemporary Houston art, literature, history, and politics.
