Houston faith and lay leaders from different spiritual traditions speak with audiences in the exhibition galleries about their connections with objects and themes in Living with the Gods: Art, Beliefs, and Peoples.

The theme for this gallery conversation is Divine Fire: Zoroastrianism and Ritual Purity. The conversation will be led by Vehishta Kaikobad, Zoroastrian Association of Houston and MFAH Docent.

About the Speaker
Vehishta Kaikobad has been an educator for 25 years, working in the field of early childhood education based on the Montessori Method. She graduated from the University of Karachi with a B.A. in Philosophy, Psychology, and Political Science, and obtained her Montessori Diploma in 1985 from St. Nicholas College, England. Vehishta has been a Senior Docent with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston for 10 years, where she was awarded the prestigious Mary Benedict Docent of Year award in 2008. Additionally, Vehishta has served as a Sunday School Teacher at the Zoroastrian Association of Houston since the 1980s and also volunteers as a docent at the Asia Society Texas Center. Vehishta aspires to serve the cause of education through global understanding and cultural appreciation.


“Living with the Gods: Art, Beliefs, and Peoples” is organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and supported by a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.
