In the ongoing “Conversations with the Director” series, Gary Tinterow, Director and Margaret Alkek Williams Chair of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, engages an eclectic roster of guests in conversations about the arts.

The Museum welcomes Henri Loyrette, Paris-based scholar and former director of the Louvre, to Houston in conjunction with the upcoming exhibition Gauguin in the World, on view from November 3 to February 16. The first presentation of this scope in 35 years, Gauguin in the World offers new perspectives on the life and work of Paul Gauguin; artistic networks and influences; and contemporary legacies, both artistic and historical.

  • This program takes place in Brown Auditorium Theater in the Law Building. The theater doors open at 5:30 p.m.
  • Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. No late seating. Any empty seats are released five minutes before start time to a standby line. Holding seats is not allowed. 
  • The exhibition Gauguin in the World is on view from November 3 to February 16.
