Concert | “Gauguin in the World” Thursday, November 21, 2024 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

November 21, 2024
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the DACAMERA Young Artists present a concert inspired by the exhibition Gauguin in the World.

The MFAH is the only U.S. venue for this ambitious exhibition showcasing the work of 19th-century French Post-Impressionist artist Paul Gauguin. The first Gauguin presentation of this scope in 35 years, Gauguin in the World offers new perspectives on Gauguin’s life and work; his artistic networks and influences; and his contemporary legacies, both artistic and historical.

About the Performers
The DACAMERA Young Artists program is a fellowship for emerging professional instrumentalists, vocalists, and composers. The goal is to encourage musicians to develop the skills necessary to become passionate, forward-thinking, community-focused “citizen artists”—artists who reimagine the traditional notions of their music-making and embrace the role of contributing to society through the transformative power of art and proactive social engagement.

“Gauguin in the World” is organized by Art Exhibitions Australia; National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
