  5. Truffaut: On Childhood

    This series is followed by Remembering François Truffaut, October 5–November 22. Truffaut acted in several of his own films, including The Wild Child, in which his Dr. A passionate moviegoer from the age of 8, the legendary French critic and filmmaker cut school as a child to sneak into Parisian cinemas. Concluding his trilogy on childhood is Small Change, comprised of overlapping stories of rambunctious children and adolescents (a cast of 60!) in a provincial boarding school.

  7. The Fine Art of Staying Healthy

    Mar 6, 2015 - Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Lower the heat; cover and simmer for about 45 minutes. Meanwhile, chop the garlic, anchovies, capers, parsley, and rabbit liver in a food processor, blender, or by hand. Heat the oil in a heavy-based casserole and brown the rabbit on both sides. Lower the heat, add the onion, rosemary, bay leaf, and artichoke hearts, and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the wine and sugar. Add the liver mixture to the casserole and stir well over very low heat for 5 minutes; do not boil. Pour this over the rabbit. Serve the dish with freshly cooked tagliatelle.

  10. Bayou Bend at 50: A Longtime Docent Tells Her Story

    Mar 3, 2016 - March 5, 2016, marks the 50th anniversary of Bayou Bend’s opening to the public. She said in her remarks that day that the opening was “the culmination of a long-cherished dream.” Bayou Bend docent Betsy Ache was there on March 5, 1966. It is like a family. I feel a great pride to be a Bayou Bend docent. It is still thrilling to be there, just as it was that special day on March 5, 1966, at the very beginning of the adventure.
