  6. Visiting the MFAH for Free

    Kids Get in FREE When . . . 1) They are 12 years old or younger. 2) They are Texas public library cardholders, 18 or younger, visiting on a Saturday or Sunday. Before you visit, check the calendar to see what’s happening so you can take full advantage of your time at the Museum. It’s always free to visit the Museum’s library, shop, and restaurants, as well as exhibitions at the Glassell School of Art. Whether you paid for admission or not, you’ll find activities at the MFAH that don’t cost extra.

    How long will my visit last?Both guided and self-guided tours are booked for one hour in the Museum within a specific timeframe (e.g., 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.). What if I need to cancel my visit? In the event that you must cancel your visit, please email schooltours@mfah.org or call 713.639.7835 as soon as possible. What happens if our group is late? Will there be time to visit the MFA Shop?Students are welcome to visit the MFA Shop after their guided tour or at any point during their self-guided visit.
