I’ve so enjoyed hearing from the experts who instruct the family classes and how they tie hands-on experiences to the Museum exhibitions. I attend more lectures, view more films, see more art, and have a much richer experience than I would as a nonmember.

  2. About the Junior School

    Classes and workshops for children ages 3 to 18 are offered year-round. A distinguishing feature of classes at the Junior School is ready access to works of art in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Classes are designed to accommodate children of all skill levels and interests. Courses range from drawing, painting, and ceramics to video, animation, and fashion design.   3. Opening Reception | “2023 Studio School Annual Student Exhibition”

    The selection is a cross section of art produced in studio classes and highlights the diversity of backgrounds and visual experiences of the school’s students. June 2, 2023 Celebrate the opening of the 2023 Studio School Annual Student Exhibition at the Glassell School of Art. The reception is open to the public, and admission is free. An awards presentation takes place at 7 p.m.

Some of the best instructors in the country teach you, and they are all working artists. Learn More Spring classes at the Studio School begin January 23. Registration takes place January 7 and 8. See the schedules and the course catalog. The Glassell School of Art is open to all ages and skill levels. The Studio School, for adults, offers everything from short-term workshops to full-semester courses in art and art history.

    Oct 15, 2019 - Some participants are invited to teach classes at the Glassell School. Others take classes side-by-side with Studio School students. Describe a typical day for a Core resident. What sets this group apart from students at the Glassell School of Art? We offer a series of lectures by significant artists, curators, critics, and art historians, which are free and open to the public.
