  4. Detective Days at Bayou Bend

    HoursWednesday–Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Sunday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. AdmissionThe option of completing a Detective Days activity is included with the purchase of a House and Garden Admission ticket.  Topics are divided into two age groups: 6 to 9 years old, and 10 to 12 years old. These programs are available during any self-guided hours, and no reservations or appointments are necessary. Children ages 6 to 12 can unleash their inner sleuths in the gardens or the historic house.

  9. Kitty King Powell Library & Study Center

    The Powell Library is a branch of the MFAH Hirsch Library. Hours Wednesday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.Saturday, 12 noon–5 p.m. Copy Facilities A copy machine is available in the reading room; 25 cents for black and white; $1 for color. Payment in cash or check. Services The Powell Library offers reference service, including research assistance, and a reading room for your convenience.

  10. About the Hirsch Library

    Maurice died during a trip to Hong Kong in 1983, after a lifetime of work as a lawyer and philanthropist. Winifred continued to actively support the Hirsch Library until her death in 1990. The Hirsches traveled the world many times, and during a trip to Egypt in 1952, they bought several Egyptian art objects for the Museum.
