  1. Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens

    Featuring the Lora Jean Kilroy Visitor and Education Center, which includes the Kitty King Powell Library and Study Center, as well as state-of-the-art education and rental spaces, Bayou Bend has established its place in the continually Displayed in the former home of Houston civic leader and philanthropist Ima Hogg (1882–1975), the collection is one of the finest showcases of American furnishings, silver, ceramics, and paintings in the world. Bayou Bend is the MFAH house museum for American decorative arts and paintings.

    Tours, Performances, Activities & More Bayou Bend Family Days welcome you for fun and learning during selected months, usually on the third Sunday.* Admission is free! , demonstrations, and workshops centered around the day’s theme  The first-floor house tours are hosted by volunteers from Houston Junior Woman’s Club.   Access to Bayou Bend’s remarkable historic gardens Performances by musicians, puppeteers, dancers, storytellers, and more Craft activities suited for young children Educational themes related to aspects of Bayou Bend Exhibitions

    Gary Tinterow returned to his native Houston from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York to become director of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, in early 2012. In this series of conversations, he discusses his ambitions and goals for the MFAH, including partnerships both locally and abroad, and increased visitor access to the MFAH collections.   9. Parking Information for Glassell Junior School Parents

    Observe and comply with all “No Parking” signs and regulations when parking on the street. Parking is available at the Glassell School of Art underground parking garage, 5101 Montrose Boulevard. Free parking is available for up to 30 minutes. Space is limited. Please visit mfah.org/parking for additional information and fees for parking 31 minutes or more. Street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood.
