This group of works has a closer connection to my father. 2. Does Houston offer a special context for your father’s work? I think of Houston as maybe the central Rothko city. To have a relationship with Rothko is necessarily to have a personal relationship.

Four pieces of glass on a stainless-steel framework create a triangle, one sheet of which weighs a couple hundred pounds. Dan Graham’s Triangular Solid with Circular Inserts, Variation F also had to be moved, because it's right in the path of a planned underground tunnel.

Things will kick off with a free, block-party special edition of Mixed Media on the evening of Friday, October 16. Art handlers carefully relocated a few artworks from the Cullen Sculpture Garden to storage, and the architects finalized designs for the school. Food trucks will line Bissonnet and DJs will take over the Cullen Sculpture Garden as the Museum turns its regular late-night dance party into a neighborhood bash.
