    Oct 5, 2010 - With top photographers Horst P. Newton (1920-2004) survived Nazi Germany as a self-supporting, nomadic teenager to emerge a world-renowned photographer. The prints that will be displayed in Helmut Newton: White Women • Sleepless Nights • Big Nudes were made specifically for the exhibition and are large-scale—some reaching nearly 8 x 8 feet.

    Art BitesA little art can go a long way! Visit the galleries for a snippet of art appreciation on our late nights. Art Bites tours are 30 minutes long and included in general admission. Meet your docent in the lobby of the building in which the art bite takes place on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. and Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Artwork of the MonthEngage in slow looking and study of an MFAH favorite! Fridays this fall at 1:30 pm. Meet your docent in the gallery listed and discuss what moves you about art. This discussion is free with museum admission.

  10. Carolyn Pfeiffer: A Cinematic Life

    -- Begin Grid Row --> October 20–22, 2023 Carolyn Pfeiffer, a film-industry veteran, introduces movies from her storied career and signs copies of her memoir, Chasing the Panther: Adventures and Misadventures of a Cinematic Pfeiffer also produced and distributed films in Jamaica and the United States, including a longstanding collaboration with Alan Rudolph. Also available is the book The Ocean Is Closed: Journalistic Adventures and Investigations, a collection of work by her late husband, magazine writer Jon Bradshaw.
