Eye on Third Ward: Jack Yates High School Photography February 8–May 30, 2011

In one of the museum's most admired and successful education initiatives, photography students from Jack Yates High School document the cultural fabric of the historic Houston community
known as the Third Ward. Remarkable artistic talents emerge as
these teenagers walk through the neighborhoods capturing candid images of day-to-day life.

MFAH staff members select the best photographs for display in an annual exhibition. Now in its 16th year, Eye on Third Ward continues
to inspire museum visitors along with the participants.

"Eye on Third Ward" and the Jack Yates High School Photography Program receive generous funding from the CFP Foundation; the Junior League of Houston, Inc.; and the Trull Foundation.

All education programs at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, receive endowment income from funds provided by Caroline Wiess Law; the National Endowment for the Humanities; the William Randolph Hearst Foundation; the Fondren Foundation; BMC Software, Inc.; the Wallace Foundation; the Louise Jarrett Moran Bequest; and the Favrot Fund.
