Festival of Films from Iran

A gambler (Yasna Mirtahmasb, who won best actor at the 2023 Tokyo International Film Festival) finds an unexpected romance with a talented female videographer. Determined to turn his life around, he strives to become a better, more useful person by taking responsibility for a crime he did not commit. The filmmaker, Parviz Shahbazi, says, “I make films depicting how young people live right now. Sometimes they’re happy and sometimes their lives are difficult. That’s just the way it is.”
