Rienzi Reels L’Auberge Espagnole

To celebrate Europe Day, Rienzi and the French Consulate of Houston host a free outdoor screening of the film L’Auberge Espagnole. Rienzi is the MFAH house museum for European decorative arts, and this edition of Rienzi Reels takes place on May 13, following the European Union celebration of Europe Day on May 9.

In the 2002 comedy L’Auberge Espagnole (The Spanish Apartment), a French college student moves into a Barcelona flat with exchange students from countries all over Europe. Even though each speaks a different language, they all speak the international language of love and friendship. The cast includes Romain Duris, Judith Godrèche, and Audrey Tautou.

Guests are welcome to explore the Rienzi galleries beginning at 7:30 p.m. before the movie starts at 8:30 p.m. Feel free to bring blankets and have a picnic on the lawn, as the event does not include a concession stand. Chairs are available on a limited basis.
