Houston faith leaders from different spiritual traditions come together for an engaging conversation on “Contemplating the Divine: Buddhism.” Discover how their beliefs connect with the objects and themes in the exhibition Living with the Gods: Art, Beliefs, and Peoples.

The Zen meditation and discussion are presented by Gyōzan Royce Johnson, Houston Zen Center.

About the Speaker
Gyōzan Royce Johnson is an ordained Zen priest, and the resident assistant priest of Houston Zen Center. He is a senior member of HZC, teaches classes, leads meditation, and oversees the thriving temple grounds of HZC and Auspicious Cloud West. The mission of Houston Zen Center is to express, make accessible, and embody the wisdom and compassion of the Buddha. The center provides an environment that supports spiritual practice based on the living tradition of Zen Buddhism.


“Living with the Gods: Art, Beliefs, and Peoples” is organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and supported by a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.
