Prolific filmmaker Hong Sangsoo has made more than 30 films in 25 years, creating semi-autobiographical, character-driven stories about individuals working in creative professions. His go-to actress Kim Minhee won a top prize at the Locarno Film Festival for her role in By the Stream as Jeonim, an artist teaching at a Seoul university, who invites her uncle—a former actor with a controversial past—to direct a student play. He becomes involved with an academic administrator who is improbably his super-fan, causing drama for everyone around them.
