Ann Dumas, consulting curator for European art and co-curator of Vertigo of Color: Matisse, Derain, and the Origins of Fauvism, provides insight into the vibrant works of art on view. The exhibition explores the creative partnership of Henri Matisse and André Derain and how it led to the birth of Fauvism, a boldly inventive artistic language that would change the course of French painting.
