Art Encounters | “150 Years of Design: The AIA Houston Collection”

Art Encounters

November 21, 2024
Looking for a new art experience? Art Encounters programs, led by artists and inspired by art at the MFAH, focus on creating community. The way you participate is up to you! Take an active role, or simply observe. Open to all ages. Supplies are provided.

This Art Encounters session encourages you to experiment with design through sculpture. Inspired by A.C. Evans’s works, and pieces on view in 150 Years of Design: The AIA Houston Collection, participants explore materiality in design by creating a series of small-scale sculptures using plastic bricks and wood. Grab a mini zine designed by Evans, then add notes and sketches about design as you explore the galleries.
