All We Imagine as Light
An illuminating portrait of the transformative power of friendship and sisterhood, All We Imagine as Light focuses on three women whose lives overlap in the vast metropolis that is Mumbai. Writer-director Payal Kapadia won the Grand Prize at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival for this sensitive drama, the first female-directed Indian film in the festival’s main competition section.
As the Guardian observed, the film features “an enriching humanity and gentleness which coexist with fervent, languorous eroticism, and finally something epiphanic in the later scenes and mysterious final moments.”
