Eve Harrington (Anne Baxter), a secretly ruthless ingenue, insinuates herself into the life of aging Broadway star Margo Channing (Bette Davis). Thelma Ritter received an Oscar nomination for her role as Birdie, the no-nonsense, straight-talking voice of reason who instantly sees through Eve’s act.
