A Letter to Three Wives
Film historian Christina Putnam introduces the screening.
Three women receive a letter from their “best friend” announcing that she is running away with one of their husbands—but she does not say which one. Thelma Ritter, in one of her (uncredited) early film roles, steals the show as both the maid of one wife and the best friend of another wife’s mother.
