African Art

The museum´s African art collection spans 2,500 years, from Nigeria´s Nok culture to the mid-1900s. The galleries present the world´s most significant collection of gold works of art from Africa, the Glassell Collection of African Gold.

2,500 Years of African Art

The focus of the African collection is on works created by people living south of the Sahara in the grasslands and the rainforest regions of western and central Africa.
