As guest curator at Rice Unversity’s Moody Center for the Arts, Barotto is organizing an exhibition by Baseera Khan. While associate curator at the Moody Center, Barotto curated exhibitions including Kapwani Kiwanga: The Sand Recalls The Moon’s Shadow and States of Mind: Art and American Democracy as well as events featuring Jillian Conrad, Sondra Perry, Clarissa Tossin, Jawwaad Taylor, and others. Barotto has also curated for the Magazzino Italian Art Foundation and Italian Cultural Institute in New York; served as assistant curator at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; and is the founder of the app Unpack, a guide to artists’ talks and performances.

Established in 1982, the Glassell School of Art’s Core Residency Program offers postgraduate residencies for art critics and visual artists.
